去中心化云和IBC加速Defi增长,Akash凭什么?

    有人说Akash是基于Cosmos;采用Tendermint技术;用于Defi的去中心化云;可是他究竟是怎样的?

    值得期待的是:9月17日20:00 线上AMA,我们有幸邀请到了Akash产品负责人Jack Zampolin为我们分享Akash网络构建方面的知识,以及他们的加密技术。

    Cosmos是什么?

    严格来说,Cosmos 是一个独立并行区块链的去中心化网络,每个区块链都由Tendermint共识这样的BFT(拜占庭容错Byzantine Fault-Tolerance) 共识算法构建。通俗来讲Cosmos 是一个区块链生态系统,可以相互扩展和互操作。在 Cosmos 之前,区块链是孤立的、无法相互通信。所以Cosmos希望能把所有的不同的区块链最终链接在一起,形成一整套生态系统,实现相互之间的协作和数据传递。

    Akash又是什么?

    Jack阐述说传统的中心化云计算平台现今存在一些问题:一方面,无状态接口和底层节点结构受中心化云服务厂商制约,B端客户的使用成本非常高,难以进入主流市场;另外一方面,全球840万个数据中心,预计有85%的服务器容量尚未得到充分利用。

    根据市场研究数据预计,截止到2020年,全球云计算市场规模将突破2100亿美元,其中云(AWS)、谷歌云、微软Azure和阿里云四大中心化云服务厂商以71%的市场份额形成了寡头垄断的市场格局。

    由此看来,Akash项目的产生是顺势而为的。

    而且,Akash 是用于 Serverless Computing (无服务计算)的点对点超级云项目,旨在为开发人员提供了一个开放,无需授权的,安全的多余算力循环市场。通过分布式计算集群(数据中心)网络打破这种寡头垄断,并在对等市场提供资源,所消耗的成本预计以比现在市场上的的成本低10-15倍。Akash希望借助打破寡头垄断,提供更开放、更高效的云服务。

    新事物的代表的是光明的,前进的,是值得大家支持的;Akash是受到官方生态所认可的,我们相信,他的未来值得大家期待。

    Jack: I'm Jack Zampolin, VP of Product at Akash. Prior to joining here I was Director of Product at Cosmos/Tendermint. Most recently, I launched Game of Zones, an incentivized testnet for the Cosmos interoperability framework IBC.

    Prior to Cosmos, I worked at Blockstack as employee #9, helping to raise their ICO and build out their developer community. I also have experience working in cloud computing at InfluxData where I was their first Sales Engineer then first Developer Evangelist, building integrations with many cloud platforms and the open source community there.

    I was introduced to Akash over a year ago when Greg gave me a demo. I was blown away and invested and became an advisor soon after. I couldn't be more excited to be working with this team.

    IPFSNEWS Nancy: What are the problems of traditional centralized cloud computing platforms, and how does Akash solve these problems? What is the ultimate goal of Akash?

    Jack: Cloud infrastructure -- the back bone of the Internet -- is increasingly becoming centralized, controlled by an oligopoly of four companies (Amazon’s AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft’s Azure and Alibaba).

    The mission of Akash is to break this oligopoly using a decentralized network of computing clusters (data centers), and offering resources in a peer-to-peer marketplace to build resilient and unstoppable applications at 10X to 15X less than what you would pay in the market today.

    Jack: 云计算是互联网的关键基础设施,然而现在云正日益中心化,四大企业——亚马逊AWS、谷歌云、微软Azure和阿里云已垄断该行业。

    IPFSNEWS Nancy:Who are the participants in Akash network ecosystem, and how do they participate ? How is the network's economic incentive model conceived?

    Jack:There are four roles:

    Tenants: Tenants are users of compute, or developers, who specify their needs application needs, before submitting it to our marketplace for providers to bid

    Cloud Providers: Anyone with spare compute capacity, Supermini nodes, and enterprise data centers are able to place their idle compute capacity in our network. It’s important to note that 8.2-million data centers have 85%+ of spare compute already.

    We are prioritizing our efforts to focus align="justify">Validators: Validators contribute to the economic security of the chain: validate transactions, governance, etc.

    Delegators: Individual stakeholders that delegate their AKT to validators and further contribute to the economic security of the Akash blockchain.

    As an individual user, specifically an Akash delegator, you are able to stake AKT and earn block rewards.

    Jack: Akash网络生态主要的参与方有四种:租户、云提供商、验证器、以及委托者。

    租户:租户是计算用户或开发商,他们在将应用需求提交给Akash市场供供应商投标之前,会指定自己的需求

    IPFSNEWS Nancy: Blockchain networks generally integrate IBC modules. What are the characteristics and overall solutions of Akash network in integrating IBC ?

    Jack: IBC standard provides a framework to connect the global economy to the blockchain, and parties align="justify">With the ICF, we’ll be working align="justify">With IBC, users will be able to pay and settle with stablecoins such as Kava's USDX, or Terra, or other currencies, for cloud compute.

    Jack: IBC标准提供了将全球经济连接到区块链的框架,现有区块链上的各方将能够跨链进行交互和交换。借助ICF,我们将致力于研究的前沿,部署实时生产系统以使IBC成为现实。

    IPFSNEWS Nancy:Defi rises so amazing. What do you think of the current Defi market? What problems and risks still exist in the Defi protocols?

    Jack: Three problems: Censorship, Costs and Scalability

    Censorship:

    Cloud applications hosted align="justify">Costs:

    It is estimated that over 60% of Ethereum nodes currently run align="justify">High gas costs prevents DeFi from being more accessible to the wider retail market.

    Scalability:

    The high transaction costs are indicative of the scalability challenges blockchain protocols face today. Ethereum blockchain currently supports around 15 transactions per second (TPS), which is prohibitive for smaller transactions and impossible to build high volume money markets (such as high margin trading).

    In other words, Akash makes DeFi unstoppable.

    Jack: 面对当前火热的Defi市场,我认为该协议层面存在以下三个问题:

    IPFSNEWS Nancy:What are the current challenges facing the Akash network? What is Akash's global strategy in the future and what are its expectations for the Chinese market?

    Jack: Akash has already attracted a large global audience and have a validator community encompassing North America, South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

    In the past two months we've added teams in China and Russia to support our large audiences there, and we're continuing to expand support to additional global regions.

    Most of our critical content is available in Chinese and Russian as well. We're excited to announce additional global expansions and support in the coming months.

    IPFSNEWS Nancy:What are the differences between using the akash platform and using the existing platforms?

    Jack: Other projects in the cloud infrastructure space, like Dfinity and Golem, they are both in the same industry as as Akash, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), but our go-to-market is fundamentally different for the $202B industry.

    Golem and Dfinity’s market size is less than $300-million.

    Golem has align="justify">Dfinity focuses more align="justify">
